Today’s Floor Action

SB 1467 STOs; corporations; caps; scholarship eligibility (Yarbrough) was scheduled to be debated on the House floor today, but thanks to your help, it has been retained!

In a matter of hours, our Advocacy network sent a total of 166 emails to 56 of the 60 Representatives! Thank you for your immediate and passionate response to our Action Alert.

If you haven’t contacted your Representative yet, please click here to send them an email and keep the pressure on.

SB 1497 teachers; principals; evaluation instrument (Smith) was also scheduled to be heard in COW today, but was retained as well.

This bill reduced the amount that student testing data can account for teacher evaluation outcomes from between 33 and 50 percent to between 20 and 40 percent.

There may be some floor amendments to this measure in the next few days. As always, we will keep you posted on both of these important issues.
