ASBA Committees

ASBA has several committees that help guide the organization’s governance, finance, and policies. By joining a committee, you can play a key role in shaping the future of education in Arizona.

Please note, all must be current school board members.

Governance Committee

The Governance Committee reviews ASBA’s governance procedures and provides recommendations for improvements. Members are approved annually at the Board of Directors meeting.

Budget and Financial Oversight Committee

Chaired by the ASBA treasurer, the Budget and Financial Oversight Committee reviews and provides input on the annual budget and IRS 990 Report.

Legislative Committee

This committee helps shape ASBA’s political agenda by bringing recommendations to the Delegate Assembly. School board members from across the state are selected to provide leadership, and members are approved annually by the Board of Directors.

Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee presents a slate of officer nominees for election at the Annual Membership Meeting in December. It is chaired by the immediate past president, and members are appointed by the president each year.

Credentials Committee

The Credentials Committee verifies delegate attendance and vote counts at the Delegate Assembly and Annual Membership Meeting. Members are appointed annually by the president at the Board of Directors meeting.
