Throw your hat in the ring! Become an officer on the ASBA Board of Directors
It’s your time to shine. We want to celebrate your district’s achievements! Participate in the ASBA Annual Awards Program.
Members interested in running for president-elect, treasurer or secretary for 2021 must submit an online application by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020.
Five officers serve as the executive committee on the ASBA Board of Directors. They are the president, president-elect, treasurer, secretary and immediate past-president. Each position is held for a one-year term. The officers serve on the board alongside 17 county directors and ex officio voting members that include caucus and alliance presidents.

All nominations and entries must be submitted using the online forms. Nominations are now open and close Friday, October 16.
School district governing board membership in the Arizona School Boards Association is required to nominate/apply for an award and to receive an award. Nominations and entries must be received by Friday, October 16.

ASBA’s political agenda set for 2021
ASBA members discussed its political agenda during this year’s Virtual Delegate Assembly, Saturday, October 17. ASBA’s position on issues is based on the association’s political agenda, were discussed, debated and approved by ASBA membership. Thank you to all the district delegate representatives that attended and voted. The political agenda will be sent to all members very soon.

Diversity, equity and inclusion are high priority for today’s school leaders, but the time has come to do more than talk about these issues. The question is, where do you start?
ASBA’s one-of-a-kind, interactive workshop, tailored to school board members and district leaders, will generate ideas and help you discover pathways towards a more equitable and inclusive space for students, families and staff.
This workshop will take place during two three-hour segments over two consecutive days, offering flexibility for you to participate and still have time to complete your daily work.
Participants will gain knowledge and insight as well as a workbook designed to support you as you work to lead for equity. This training is for school board members, superintendents, administrators and staff that want to dig deeper in this work.
