Support Black students in your public schools
Join the ASBA Black Alliance Meeting, Wednesday, June 17, 5:45 – 7 p.m.
Meeting topics will be a digital summer training program on supporting Black students during COVID-19, the development of an anti-racism starter kit and a scholarship fund. Alliance President Lindsay Love will provide a presentation on racialized trauma. Devin Del Palacio, president of the NSBA’s National Black Council, will provide an update on that group’s work.
All registrants for ASBA’s Summer Leadership Virtual Conference will be registered automatically for this meeting. All others who wish to join the meeting must register using this online form to receive the link to participate. Participants will be authenticated prior to being admitted to the meeting.
Will the ASBA Law Conference be in-person this year? September 9-11
We wanted to give members an update on this year’s ASBA Law Conference. Like you, we are carefully watching COVID-19 trends and listening to public health professionals for the latest advice. First and foremost, we want this to be a safe, educational experience for all and are making adjustments to the way we are doing things.
Right now, the 2020 ASBA Law Conference is planned to be an in-person event, to be held on September 9-11. A full-day Pre-Conference on COVID-19 Legal Issues will be held on Wednesday, September 9 and the full conference will be held Thursday, September 10 and Friday, September 11. The conference will end on Friday at noon.

Hear from past presenters on why districts should present at Annual Conference! Request for Proposals now open
ASBA encourages your district to think about presenting at our Annual Conference, Dec. 3-4. Submissions are now open and close Friday, Aug. 3. ASBA will conduct a first review and notify semi-finalists no later than Aug. 17, 2020. If selected as a semi-finalist, you will be asked to provide additional details on your presentation which will assist ASBA in making final selections.
Submissions will be considered for either a 50 min or 30 min breakout session.
