Rural Schools: What are your biggest challenges for reopening?
School districts across the state are working to implement plans for starting the school year remotely and to plan for an eventual return to in-person instruction. The challenge is huge, and creativity, innovation and determination are necessary. So that districts might get ideas from one another to help navigate these uncharted waters, the ASBA Rural Alliance is requesting that rural and remote districts provide a pdf of or a web link to their reopening plans, to be posted on the Rural Alliance’s web page azsba.org/about/rural-alliance/.
Please send the information to RuralAlliance@azsba.org. In addition, the Alliance would like to know the top three challenges your board/district is wrestling with regarding the start of the school year and eventual return to in-person instruction. Your responses will be shared with ASBA staff to make them aware of the needs of rural and remote districts like ours during this difficult time. Click here to let us know.

- Open Meeting Law
- Self-Evaluation
- Communication Protocols
- Superintendent Goals Setting
According to evaluations of these trainings:

- 100% rated the trainers’ effectiveness as “excellent”
- 86% said the training length was “just right” while 13% stated it was a little “too short.”
- On a scale of 1-10 on how likely participants were to recommend ASBA online training to a colleague, the average score was 9.5
