|Legislative Recap: Week 7
This week, both chambers had ambitious COW and Third Read calendars to clear the deck for legislation from the other side. We haven’t heard anything about the budget yet, so if things don’t start moving in the next week or so we’re not hopeful about a halftime budget.

On Monday, the State Board of Education (SBE) held a regular meeting in Phoenix.
SBE approved changes to improve the A-F accountability system business rules for the 2018-2019 school year. The business rules will be updated in the process before being published as a final draft, allowing for clarifying notes in addition to descriptive statistics.
Changes were made to 8th grade math cut scores and SPED bonus point calculations.
SBE released a draft of the Arizona Online Instruction (AOI) Accountability Plan. This requires AOI providers to collect and report their CCRI data to ADE. ADE will present a model for adoption in the 2020-2021 school year.
