Day 54

Legislative Recap: Week 8

This week, we saw some controversial bills on the floor of both chambers but relatively tame committee meetings. SB 1060 and SB 1234 passed out of the House Education committee, which increase special education funding and eliminate the DAA rollover, respectively. SB 1122 failed in the Senate by a vote of 13-16, but Senator Allen made a motion to reconsider– so we expect to see that bill come back up again soon and hope we can keep it dead. SB 1664 also failed in the Senate this week 13-16, with no motion to reconsider. Thanks to everyone who has reached out to their legislators on these important issues.
