Accountability Update
Yesterday, the State Board of Education held a special meeting to discuss A-F accountability and assessments. The Board adopted a new growth calculation for 2018-2019 letter grades to accommodate various choices on the Menu of Assessments. This year’s growth calculation will be based on Subgroup Improvement, however, if a school receives a lower grade than in 2017-18 under this new calculation, they will retain the higher letter grade.
The Board also discussed a three-year plan on how to move forward with implementation of the Menu of Assessments, given the recent developments from the US Dept of Education.
