Day 135
Sine Die 2019
Just after midnight, the first regular session of the 54th Legislature adjourned sine die and concluded business for the year.
The K-12 Budget Reconciliation Bill passed the House 31-28 and passed the Senate 17-12.

The Governor now has 10 days, not including Sunday, to sign all of the budget bills and any other outstanding bills that made it to his desk. The general effective date for any bills not containing an emergency clause is August 27, 2019.
This will be our last regular in-session update, but we will send an update after that 10 days with a list of all the bills ASBA was monitoring that passed this session. In addition, be on the lookout for our Session Wrap Up document that will provide summaries of all the bills we monitored this session and how far they made it in the process.
Thanks for following along this year and being informed advocates for public education.
