Day 103

 Coming Soon: Sine Die? 2.0

As the week comes to a close, the possibility of ending session on May 1 seems long gone. Members of the majority caucus in both chambers can’t come to an agreement about whether to adjourn for the year or continue to postpone in hopes of returning later in the year to finish passing bills. How many bills are taken up if any, and when, remains up in the air. One factor complicating matters is the news that one member of the Legislature, Sen. Lupe Contreras of LD19, has been diagnosed with COVID-19. Prior to recessing in March, several members had been concerned that being at the capitol risked exposing themselves, the staff and the public to the virus. The ASBA team wishes Sen. Contreras and his family members a full and speedy recovery. As always, we will keep you updated as the situation develops.
