Kyrene Students Celebrate Black History Month

February is Black History Month!

Annually, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History introduces a theme, and this year’s focus is “African Americans and the Arts.”

Through their creative endeavors, these artists have preserved history, community narratives and empowerment, leaving an indelible mark on cultural expression for generations.

Students throughout Kyrene School District are actively engaged in projects centered around Black History Month.

The picture above was shared with us from Kyrene del Pueblo Middle School, where students created a stunning art piece for their media center, reflecting the richness of African American heritage.

Stay tuned for more inspiring projects to be shared on our social media platforms throughout February.
