Run for County Director on the ASBA Board of Directors
The ASBA Board of Directors is the governing body of the Association and is composed of the Association’s five officers and seventeen county directors along with ex-officio members of the ASBA Board of Directors. Each county in the state has one (1) representative, with the exception of Maricopa and Pima counties, which are allotted two (2) representatives each.
County Directors serve two-year terms and may serve up to three consecutive terms. Members of the Board of Directors are elected by the member boards of their respective counties during annual county meetings held in September and October.
Please note, all applicants running for election must be current school board members and their district is an ASBA member.
What to Expect as a County Director
Serving as an ASBA County Director is an active leadership role that includes opportunities to connect, participate and represent your county throughout the year. County Directors are encouraged to stay engaged in ASBA events, meetings and other key activities as they serve as a link between ASBA and the school board members in their county.
To help you understand what the role may look like and plan ahead, we’ve provided ASBA’s 2027 and 2028 calendars of events below. These calendars offer a helpful look at key dates and opportunities County Directors may be asked or encouraged to participate in throughout their term.
View the calendars below to get a feel for the next two years ahead.
