Individual Board Member Awards
Recognizes board members for their commitment to continuous learning and excellence in service.
How Are Individual Board Member Awards Selected?
ASBA awards recognize professional development milestones, peer nominations, and contributions to public education. Each award has specific criteria to ensure that honorees reflect the highest standards in boardsmanship, leadership, and service to Arizona’s school communities.

Selection Criteria:
- ASBA Member District
Nominees must be associated with an ASBA member district. - Professional Development
Awards like the Academy of Board Development and STAR Awards are earned by accumulating Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through ASBA trainings and events. - Peer Nominations
Honors such as the All-Arizona School Board Member Award and the Honor Roll Award are based on nominations from fellow board members, district leaders, or peers. - Service and Leadership
Each nominee’s impact, contributions, and commitment to student success, advocacy, and leadership are key factors in the selection process.
