Help shape ASBA’s 2027 Political Agenda
Shaping advocacy with students at
the center
At the heart of ASBA’s advocacy work is a shared belief: every child deserves access to a strong, high-quality public education.
It’s time to help shape advocacy that strengthens learning opportunities for every student by submitting priorities for ASBA’s Political Agenda.

The ASBA Political Agenda helps guide how the association advocates for education policy that supports students, classrooms and public school districts across Arizona. Governing boards are invited to help shape advocacy priorities that reflect student needs and educational access statewide.

What we mean by “Political Agenda”
This document is a policy document. While it is referred to as the “Political Agenda” in ASBA bylaws, its content is entirely focused on education policy issues affecting Arizona’s public schools.
The Political Agenda is used to guide ASBA’s advocacy work in support of district schools, local governance and student success. It does not address political parties, candidates or elections.
How governing boards guide student-centered advocacy
Governing boards are asked to review the current 2026 ASBA Political Agenda, reaffirm their top three priorities, and may approve an optional fourth or fifth priority. Boards may also submit additional one revision or removal for an item on the current political agenda for consideration by the ASBA Legislative Committee as development begins for the 2027 agenda.
Each district may submit one proposal, and it must reflect the collective will of the governing board. Boards are encouraged to place this item on an upcoming board agenda to allow time for discussion and thoughtful consideration.
These submissions help ensure ASBA’s advocacy efforts are aligned with the issues that matter most to students and school communities.

By participating in this process, governing boards help ensure advocacy efforts remain focused on education policy that supports student success and strengthens public education across Arizona.
