Honor Health team members, Honorable Treasurer Yee, Baby Brady, and parents Sarah and Cameron B.

Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee surprised first-time parents Sarah and Cameron B. at Honor Health’s Sonoran Crossing hospital in North Phoenix today. Sarah went into labor on National 529 Day (May 29th) and is going home with a beautiful baby boy named Brady and $529 for his education savings plan to help him achieve whatever he dreams of becoming.

529 Day is celebrated across the nation to create awareness surrounding the importance of saving for future college or post-secondary educational and career training goals through tax-deductible 529 savings accounts.

The surprise is part of the Treasurer’s efforts to raise awareness that grandparents, aunts, uncles and other family and friends can rally around new families and babies to help them save for their future dreams by helping to contribute to the tax-deductible 529 plans. She reminds Arizonans, “It is never too early or too late to begin saving for your higher education dreams.”
